Recruitment was stuck in the past. We saw it clearly.
Sumit Rai had co-founded Fraazo, a company that scaled to over $100 million in valuation. He had seen firsthand how broken the hiring process
was. Recruiters were drowning in resumes. Screening was manual. ATS
platforms were filing cabinets with a search bar. The intelligence
layer that should exist between a job description and a shortlist simply
did not exist.
In 2023, Sumit and Dinesh co-founded Skima AI with a simple
thesis: the recruitment industry was decades behind, and the first
team to build genuine AI intelligence on top of existing hiring
infrastructure would own the category. They started building.

ENTERPRISE CLIENTS
Self-funded
SINCE DAY ONE
THE JOURNEY
Two years. Forty countries. Zero outside funding.
2023
Where it started
Company founded, first paying customer, and first ATS
integration all in the same year. Sumit starts building Skima AI
in Mumbai with a single thesis: recruitment intelligence should
sit on top of ATS, not replace it. CareerFit becomes the first
paying client at $49 per month.
2024
Where it got real
First international client, first 10 enterprise clients, and
130+ ATS integrations all ship. US-based hiring teams start to
give Skima AI chance. We lose some, but their feedback shapes
the product. Teams across staffing, enterprise, and fast-growth
startups start replacing weeks of screening with hours.
2025
Where it went global
Clients from the US, UK, India, UAE, Australia, and 35 more
countries. Still self-funded. Still growing. Workday,
Greenhouse, Lever, SAP, iCIMS, Teamtailor, and over 120 more
integrations go live.
2026
Where it gets smarter
AI Interviews launches. Candidates interviewed, scored, and
evaluated automatically. Full proctoring, timestamped
transcripts, and scorecard reports. First-round interviews done
before a recruiter opens their laptop.
FROM THE FOUNDERS
"Recruitment is a trillion-dollar industry still running on
resumes and keyword search, workflows that have not materially
changed in twenty years. We started Skima AI because the gap
between what hiring teams need and what the tools actually do
keeps widening. If that problem interests you, come help us close
it."
Sumit Rai
Co-founder, Skima AI · Ex Co-founder and CTO, Fraazo ($100M+)
"Recruitment is a rare domain where the data is noisy, the ground
truth is subjective, and the outcome shapes someone's career.
Getting AI to work here means being honest about what models can
and cannot do, and designing around it. That is the work we have
been doing for three years."

LIFE AT SKIMA AI
Where the best work of your career happens
Global exposure, from day one
You will be working on problems for enterprise customers
across 40 countries. The feedback you build on comes from
real teams solving real hiring challenges, not a
hypothetical user you have never met.
Ownership that matches your ambition
At our size, your name is on what ships. We hand people real
responsibility early and back them to work it out, with the
help of a team that genuinely wants them to succeed.
Paid leave you will actually take
Generous paid time off, and a team that expects you to use
it. We cover for each other so you can switch off, travel,
and come back fresh.
Equity that reflects what we have built
We have grown this far without outside funding, so the cap
table is not crowded. The equity you receive is a real share
in a company that still controls its own direction.
OUR TEAM
Fifty people building one thing together
★★★★★
The best thing about this team is that nobody waits for
permission. Someone spots a problem on a Monday and the fix is in
by Thursday. My job is mostly to stay out of their way.
Half my week is with customers and partners, and every
conversation turns into a thread with the product team the same
evening. That loop is the reason we close deals we probably should
not.
I have never had this much room to try things. If I think a piece
should exist, I write it. If a channel is worth a test, I test it.
The trust is real, and so is the responsibility that comes with
it.
You end up knowing the product so well that customers start
calling you about things we never sold them. Earning that kind of
trust takes time, and honestly, it is my favourite part of the
job.
Working on the latest models and fine-tuning them for real
recruiter workflows is the kind of problem I wanted when I started
out. Three years later, I'm still learning. Skima gave me the room
to grow into the engineer I wanted to be.

Every candidate gets substantive feedback at every stage. No
panels, no surprises, no ghosting.

you what we are building. No trick questions. Just a real
conversation about who you are and what you want to work on.

would do here. Designed to be done in a real environment,
